CGTX 101 series |
CGTX's 101-series cars consisted of three groups of cars, apparently acquired used from 1955 through 1961. Photographs of this series show differing types of cars, all of 10,000 gal. nominal capacity. The first group was 68 cars acquired in late 1955 as 101-168, and are believed to be former McColl-Frontenac cars. Cars 106-110 were listed as being insulated by the mid-1960s, and appear to have remained that way for the remainder of their service. The second group was 28? cars acquired in early 1961 as 169-196 (however, it should be noted that only 22 cars actually appeared in listings at this time, so some of these numbers may have been vacant). By 10/1961 the series had been extended by two additional cars, CGTX 197-198, and given the closeness of their addition, may simply have been stragglers from the second group. It would appear that 199 was vacant. By early 1978, all of these later cars were off the roster.

Former MFLX? acquired c/1955. Cars 101-105 were slightly smaller, at 8350 imp. gals. Cars 106-110 were listed as TMI (Insulated) by 1965, presumably a retrofit. |
